I love study guides and teaching children valuable character lessons. So when I wrote One Eyed Jack, I had to create both! :) This guide comes in two formats, a booklet or in PDF format on CD. Purchasing information and samples are below.

One Eyed JackOne Eyed Jack Study Guide

This 42 pg. study guide, featuring penciled drawings from the book, is divided into units covering two or more chapters. Below are the four different types of questions per unit. All answers are provided in the back of the guide.

  • Reading Comprehension - These questions are basic fact questions, letting the parent or teacher discover how well the student comprehends what has been read.
  • Thinking - These require the student to think on a little deeper level. Issues such as kindness, morals, behavior and attitudes are addressed. There are no right or wrong answers. Your student’s responses will help you see how they think through various topics and situations the story raises.
  • In-depth/Biblical - Here the students may need more room to answer. These questions get to the meat of each situation. There is ample room for the student to learn to use the Bible as a resource for everyday occurrences and deepen their spiritual growth.
  • Vocabulary - Words are how we communicate. Expanding on them is a lifelong adventure. Some of these words may be familiar and some may be brand new. Students may write out the definitions or verbalize them, based on age appropriateness.

There are thirteen pages devoted to recipes and songs mentioned in One Eyed Jack.
