Welcome,
Spring. Summer. Fall. Winter.
Here in Minnesota our daily activities seem to revolve around the weather. What we wear, what we cook, and what we do indoors or out seems to be determined by the weather channel.
I'll be the first to admit that I do it too. Am I going to play in my flower beds today or bake up a batch of cookies? Will we be bringing our coats to church with us or turning up the air-conditioning on the way there?
Weather is also the never-ending conversation piece. Small talk depends on weather. How are your crops holding up in the heat? We had over two feet of snow last night. Beautiful day, isn't it?
It's interesting how much time a person spends thinking about, worrying about, and depending on the weather instead of the One who brings it.
How much richer would our day be if we got up, thanked God for the beautiful day, and went about our daily business without even looking out the window? Totally depending on Him and trusting that what the clouds brought or didn't bring would be exactly what He intended.
I think I'm going to shut my curtains today. :)

A novelist is a person who sits in a small room and talks to a computer about the intimate lives of people who don't exist. - Karen Kingsbury
I am often asked what gives me the desire to write a bunch of words on a bland word processor. My answer: how much time do you have?
Can I answer in one word? God. Life. Family. Sorrow. Joy. Despair.
Okay, I guess that's more than one word. I would have to sum it up as. . .emotions.
Emotions well up from what's inside and spills out in our actions, words and thoughts. It's what comes out that gives us a glimpse of the person behind the facade. Good, bad or ugly, emotions are brutally honest; an open window to the heart - just as God sees it.
My characters face the same emotions you and I do every day. They are ordinary people, facing ordinary obstacles, but changed by an extraordinary God.
